A little about Earth Hour.
Earth Hour is your chance to make a stand against climate change. Beginning in Sydney, Australia in 2007 when 2.2 million homes and businesses turned off the lights the movement has grown in momentum each year. Last year over 4000 cities in 88 countries pledged their support.
Raglan surfer Daniel Kereopa is one of many New Zealand sportspeople supporting Earth Hour this year. Daniel credits his career on the waves with his passion for protecting the planet. He said, “I love the ocean. It has taught me everything I know respect, honesty. It’s my duty to fully respect the environment and to encourage others to do the same. Earth Hour is a great start!”
