Our very own Aaron Brunet continues to impress the Masterchef judges week after week and has now made it into the top 10.
In the latest show Aaron, like a true Raglan man, won the fish identification challenge where they had to identify 10 different species of fish including snapper, hapuka, terakihi, gurnard and flounder.
The contestants had just one minute to identify as many of the species as they could. After winning the challenge Aaron was invited into the pantry to get first dibs on the day’s main challenge — to prepare and cook a cut of pork. He also got to assign cuts of pork — ranging from pigs cheek to trotters – to the other contestants.
His pork spare ribs with apple and lemon puree, date puree and coleslaw was one of the best dishes of the day with judge Simon Gault describing him as a ‘culinary rockstar’.
Keep watching Masterchef to see how Aaron who is clearly one of the favorites, progresses in the competition.
MasterChef New Zealand continues Sundays at 7.30pm on TV ONE. At stake for the remaining contestants is the MasterChef New Zealand title and more than $100,000 worth of prizes.
