Raglanites joined thousands of supporters in Hamilton at Te Rapa as part of the nationwide rallies across Aotearoa in opposition of the Trans Pacifc Partnership (TPP) this past Saturday, 15 Aug.
The rallies were organised to raise awareness of the TPP. Rally speakers told of the damage a bad TPP agreement would do to our national and local economies, and how it will reduce our sovereignty with effects on the environment, public health, social welfare, community health and well being.
For years the TPP has been negotiated in secrecy with no transparency or details being shared publicly–The people are calling on Minister Grosser and PM Key to “walk away!” from the TPP. There will be a planning meeting to discuss what comes next for Raglan opposition supporters at 7pm on Mon 31 Aug at Raglan Farmstay. All are welcome to attend.
