NZ Book month is back this March and we have books coming out of our ears at the Chronicle office!!!
If you would like to win a book simply pop into the office and choose one from our huge stack of books. We have everything from glossy non-fiction to teen fiction and picture books so there’s something for everybody. But be quick – book availability on a first come first served basis so make sure you head down fast to get the pick of the crop!
So what is happening for the campaign this year? It’s time for a quick recap! (From the NZ Book Month website)
We have a wonderful programme of over two hundred community events featuring over one hundred authors shaping up across the country. Have a look at what is happening in your region and get involved here.
We want everyone to benefit from owning and enjoying books and that’s why we’re again distributing over four million book vouchers – reaching out to readers new and old — encouraging all Kiwis to find their next life-changing book during Book Month.
The $5 vouchers are back…
March 2012 is the perfect time to pop into your local book store and spend your voucher. Each voucher entitles the bearer to $5 off the book of their choice — that’s ANY book they choose, providing it is priced $10 or more — in any participating bookstore where you see this sign:
 Â
Our full list of participating bookstores will be available on our website from Tuesday 28th. Have aÂ
look on our website then: www.nzbookmonth.co.nzÂ
But wait, where do I get my voucher?

All of our sponsors provide vital support that ensures we can bring this celebration of reading to you. We really mean it: Books change lives!
Our celebrity ambassadors strongly demonstrate this message. Annabel Langbein gave her first dinner party at fifteen years old and now her own cookbooks are national best sellers.
Tamati Coffey was inspired by the life story of Judy Bailey, giving him a glimpse of the woman behind the news ever night. Peter Jackson has re-cast New Zealand as Middle Earth, all because he read a great  book on a train as a teenager. Emily Perkins is one of our leading  literary authors and the host of The Good Word and The Good Word Jnr.Â
Our ambassadors prove that whether you’re a writer, a reader, or both – books have the power to enhance and shape our lives .
Thanks to our celebrity ambassadors for supporting this campaign and thanks to all our wonderful book activists too. Our activists make  a vast network of events happen across the country every year -NZ Book Month wouldn’t be the same without you!
