The inaugural Karioi Classic, a 50km race around Raglan’s beautiful mountain, takes place on Sunday 18 July. And organisers Dirk and Lisa are urging Raglan locals to get their entries in.
Everything is set to go for the race; the road works are finished, Chris Meek has created a timeless masterpiece trophy for the King and Queen of Karioi, there are heaps of spot prizes to give away (including an $800 mountain bike), and Dirk and Lisa are even are trying to make a deal with the weather gods. So far around 40 people have registered for the race, amongst them, Jack Swart, ex Tour de France pro rider.
But sadly only 3 Raglan locals have registered so far.
So, come on Raglan sporties, we know you’ve been secretly training, we know you’re not scared of a few showers, we know you would give up everything to have your name engraved on that amazing Chris Meek trophy and become a part of Raglan’s sports history for ever.
Sign up now, by going to www.karioiclassic.org.nz and download the entry form.
See you all on Sunday, 18th July at the Kopua Domain.
