The last few weeks Brigid has been working on a new body of work, this style is based on graphic novel sketches touched with a small amount of dark humour.
After years of spending long periods of time working with oil, Brigid has enjoyed the free flow style that charcoal evokes, ‘Charcoal allows me to become really involved in my work’. Brigid’s work shows the influence of both the Japanese Manga Art form and the general style of graphic novels, each piece is a complete story in which you can be the story teller. Brigid Allan has been a practising artist for over seven years, exhibiting as a finalist for the Adam Fowler National Portraiture Awards twice as well as exhibiting throughout New Zealand.
Out West is exhibiting for one week only, 17-24th of November at the Blacksands Cafe, Raglan.
