October brings the Raglan Film Festival to town for a nine-day programme of feature films, documentaries and quality drama from New Zealand and overseas.
The festival kicks off on Friday October 1 and runs to the 9 October at the Old School Arts Centre on Stewart Street. Films on offer include eco-adventure film ‘Last Paradise’, ‘Exit through the Gift Shop’ – the incredible true story of how the world’s greatest street art movie was never made and ‘Predicament’ – a crime comedy set in 1930s small town New Zealand.
This year there is a mix of screening times with afternoon showings for the younger audience.
If you fancy walking the red carpet then head along to the awards night on Saturday 2 October. ‘Meet the Whaingaroa Stars – Red Carpet evening’ will be your opportunity to dress to the nines and meet the nominees for the Raglan awards. The gala evening includes a complimentary glass of bubbles, awards ceremony, a light dinner and also entry to the main feature film ‘Predicament.’ Tickets on sale for this evening at the Old School Arts Centre.
