Strange sightings over Raglan

The Lawless family were heading into Raglan for dinner on Saturday evening when they spotted something a little unusual in the evening sky.
The family were passing through Joyce Petchall park when they noticed a sliver of light hanging, motionless, in the sky above the water. After watching it for around 3 minutes the light began to move slowly through the sky, leaving a trail behind it. Dad Paul says it was an unusual sight that none of the family have been able to explain. “I was convinced it was a cloud,” he says. Can anyone explain this strange phenomenon? Please let us know.
